Since hanging up his boots nearly two decades ago, Eric Cantona’s acting career hasn’t really left its mark on Hollywood.
In fairness, he did a fantastic job playing himself in Ken Loach’s 2009 film Looking for Eric, but that aside, there hasn’t really been much in the way of success.

Not a reference to the Frenchman’s weapon of choice when provoked by a gobby supporter, Cantona plays a character called The Stud in the comedy, which has been labelled by some critics as a mixture of art-house cinema and soft pornography.
According to the Telegraph, Cantona has knocked any suggestions on the head that he’s just inadvertently become a porn star…
“Porn? No, it’s not porn,” he said. “It’s a piece of art. It’s just a piece of art. But you can see it like this. It’s beautiful. You should see it. Unfortunately, porn is not so aesthetic and so beautiful. But love is sex also, you know?”
