Getting a good passport photo is usually impossible – but not for Page

The Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page has taken to Instagram to shout about how much he loves his new passport photo – and his fans are totally here for it.

Page, who publicly came out as transgender in December 2020, changing his name from Ellen to Elliot and his pronouns to ‘he’ and ‘they’, revealed his brand new passport photo on social media yesterday and appeared to be just as surprised as many of us might be to discover that they actually look alright in it.

Let’s be honest, almost all of us can cop to the fact that we’ve taken a fair few questionable passport photos in our time – but Page appears to be the exception to the rule.

“Never thought I would love a passport photo,” he said in a caption that accompanied his new travel-handy mug shot.

Page’s fans were all too quick to agree that the star or Super and Juno did in fact look pretty dapper.

“A beautiful photo for even more beautiful trips,” said one follower.

“Lucky you. I look like a lesbian serial killer,” joked another.

“That’s a keeper,” said a third, while one user simply posted a one-word review: “perfect”.

Page can currently be seen in the third season Netflix’s superhero hit The Umbrella Academy, with his character Viktor reflecting his off-screen transition.

Speaking recently to Late Night host Seth Meyers, Page discussed the experience, explaining that “I think it’s made me better in so many facets. As a person, as a friend, and in relationships…

“It’s improved my life drastically, and I hope that people who do have an issue with me could try and hear that and embrace that on some level.

Page continued: “What I want to focus on right now, and has been so extraordinary, is the degree of joy that I feel, the degree of presence that I feel.

“I feel a way that I really never thought possible for a long, long time. That’s really what I’m focusing on and embracing the most.”
