Dwayne Johnson reveals the struggles of his depression

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up on his 30 year battle with depression and saving his mother from attempted suicide

The 45-year-old actor and former wrestling superstar worked his way up the ladder to become Hollywood’s highest paid action star but recently admitted his depression started during this childhood. At 15 he saved his mother Ata from a suicide attempt after she saw a eviction notice on their apartment door. The moment left an emotional scar on him.

“She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic. Big rigs and cars were swerving out of the way”.  Johnson pulled his mother of to the side of the road  and explained to The Express how the experience left him pain and sadness.” “Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed, I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly.”

Despite that event his struggle got even worse. Years of training to become a American footballer ended through injury and it followed by a break up that  left “The Rock” going through a very rough period in his life. but that’s when things started looking up.

He signed a contract with WWE and went on to become one of the most successful stars in their history headlining arenas all around the world. After leaving in 2004 Johnson ventured into the movie business and became the highest paid star in Hollywood with leading roles in Fast and Furious , Jumanji and his most recent screening Rampage.

After he finished the interview he received praise and admiration from fans all around the world and responded to them through his twitter account.
