Nostalgia is a funny thing. The trash of today can so quickly become the masterpiece of tomorrow. All it takes is the passing of time. It's the same with all forms of creative expression - it can take some perspective to properly appreciate something for what it is. True artists are often unappreciated in their own lifetime. Which brings us neatly onto Danny Dyer. He may be the mainstream star of Eastenders these days, but a few years back he was something of a cult personality. Bravo was his natural home back then, rather than the BBC, and he was busy acting the big I am on the streets of sub-culture Britain in undercover shows. Perhaps most popular was The Real Football Factories series that took an in-depth look at football culture and hooligan firms. The original series was broadcast a decade ago and featured Dyer as a full-on cockney caricature, complete with a number of 'pwopa nawty' catchphrases.
