Rather than being a model of sophistication, the 47-year-old has revealed he plays "fart gags" on his co-stars.
The actor admitted he turned prankster on the set of Spectre in order to boost morale and couldn't resist playing some particularly whiffy jokes on Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris and Léa Seydoux.
He admitted at AOL Build: "You do whatever you can.
"The fact of it is, we do very long days - I'm not complaining - we do very long days, and if you've been on a movie set, it's kind of intense and often very boring, so you just have a laugh."
Daniel - who is married to Rachel Weisz - regards his co-stars as being "like family" because they have to spend so much time together, however, he added: "You love them and you hate them."
