Chris Evans lets slip about a possible female host for Top Gear

Chris Evans may have just accidentally leaked the identity of his new Top Gear co-host.

Speaking on his Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, Evans was detailing a list of incentives for a Children in Need auction, when dropped a hint that Gadget Show and MotoGP host Suzi Perry might be joining him on the new-look Top Gear. He said: "The first Top Gear of the brand new run, you'll get there the day before. You'll have your own hot lap with The Stig. You'll be the star in the reasonably priced car. "We'll then reveal who was quickest at a dinner hosted later that night by Suzi Perry at my pub, which I had forgotten about. Then you will come to the recording of the first show the next day." While this doesn't confirm anything, it does raise questions as to why Perry would be so directly involved in a clearly Top Gear-themed event. In the past, Evans has said that his Top Gear would "100%" have a female presenter, although he later back-tracked and claimed he might "go solo" as a replacement for Clarkson and co. The move for a female presenter would be a bold and refreshing change considering the programme's history. And Perry's inclusion would surely lift the show.
