A full 63 minutes of Burnham being exactly as you’d expect
Comedian Bo Burnham has released more than an hour of previously unseen footage taken from the recordings of his now-iconic Netflix special, Inside.
The US comic blew audiences away with his deeply introspective, unique and self-admittedly absurd take on the stand-up special in 2021, which somehow also managed to speak to the universal experience of so many people in lockdown.
Announcing the extended director’s cut on Twitter, Burnham explained how he single-handedly “spent the last two months once again editing material that [he] shot for the special but didn’t end up using”.
Producing the entire thing himself from the confines of his home – everything from the writing, music and performance, to directing and editing the final product – it’s one of the most critically acclaimed comedy specials in recent memory, winning three Emmys in one night – and now there’s even more of it.

In its total 63-minute runtime, the 31-year-old has edited together all of his B-roll and previously scrapped footage into what is essentially a second full-length comedy special.
To give a brief overview, it includes longer versions of existing sketches, behind the scenes footage of his filming and editing process; a pretend podcast where he talks to himself, fake interviews with press and even a visual gag about building Inside into a Marvel-esque franchise.
There is even an upcoming deluxe version of the album featuring new songs and alternate versions of the tracks for the original special which releases on June 3 – and yes, there is more Jeffrey Bezos content.
