Black Eyed Peas release star-studded modern version of ‘Where Is The Love?’ more relevant to today

It's been 13 years since the original track was released.

The Black Eyed Peas' song, 'Where Is The Love?', which discusses terrorism, hate and violence was released in 2003, and was hugely popular at the time. Earlier this week, will.i.am and his fellow band members released a video explaining why they decided to re-issue the song. They explained that the song was written after the 9/11 attacks in America, but given the prevalence of terrorism in the world at the moment, it seems just as relevant today.

"I remember when the attack in Paris happened, and then Orlando, and then Philando and Alton before him, and then Dallas, everyone was calling on us like 'we need that song again'," will.i.am explained. "The millennials are powerful, I don't think they realise just how powerful they really are. I hope this inspired the millennials to go all out, scream from the tallest mountain and care like your freedom depends on it, pay attention like that is the risk."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsRMoWYGLNA The video's new version was released on Friday on ATTN and it includes a whole host of celebrities including Kendall Jenner,  Jessie J, Jamie Fox, Justin Timberlake and Nicole Scherzinger. It also features images of Alan Kurdi, the young boy who drowned while fleeing Syria, and Sandra Sterling, whose nephew Alton Sterling was killed by the police. There's also a place for Valerie Castile, whose son Philando Castile was also killed police and others affected by violence. The lyrics have also been updated slightly to be more relevant to the issues the world is facing today, with emphasis on police brutality and other topical issues.
