Reviews of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may have been mixed, but the blockbuster has been doing the business at the box office.

The superhero film has broken records when it comes to takings from an Easter preview screening, and is expected to gross more than $170m (£120.3m) in North America in its opening weekend, Variety claims. If studio estimates are to be believed, it could become the fifth highest-grossing opening weekend in American and Canadian cinema history - Iron Man 3 currently holds that honour, with $174,144,585 (more than £123m). batmansuit The projected figures would put Zack Snyder's film just above The Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight - the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman films released in 2012 and 2008 respectively. By way of contrast, Man of Steel - Snyder's 2013 Superman release - grossed just shy of $117m in its opening weekend in the US and Canada. It seems the mixed response hasn't put off too many people. https://twitter.com/abbiewastaken/status/713720746925821953 https://twitter.com/Hari_Sethi/status/713491828058808320 https://twitter.com/_Zeets/status/713505903002169344 https://twitter.com/williamdonovan/status/713354897530494977 https://twitter.com/olifranklin/status/712983346884788225 https://twitter.com/spacegirlgail/status/713795979141652480
