“I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

Barack Obama has given his “stamp of approval” for Drake to portray him in a movie of his life.

While being interviewed on Complex’s 360 With Speedy Morman, the former President said he would be ok with the Canadian rapper and actor to playing him. And he thinks his family would be even more down with it.

“I will say this — Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants,” Obama replied when asked about it.

“I mean, that is a talented, talented brother. If the time comes, and he’s ready…Drake has — more importantly — my household’s stamp of approval.”

“I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”

In 2010, Drake said in an interview with Paper Magazine that he wanted to play Obama.

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him,” said Drizzy.

“That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Any time I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel. I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

While he is best known now as a rapper, Drake first came to prominence acting in the Canadain teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation, where he played Jimmy Brooks, a high school basketball star who loses the use of his legs following a school shooting.

If Drizzy does get to play him, it will not be the first film to be made about Barack Obama. In the 2016, Parker Sawyer played Obama in Southside With You, a drama about him meeting his future wife Michelle (played by Tika Sumpter) for the first time.

The same year also saw the release of Barry, a Netflix film about the young Barack Obama moving to New York to attend Columbia University, with Devon Terrell in the lead role.
