Adam Sandler reunites with hostess who turned him away

She turned Sandler away from an IHOP last month

Just last month, a server turned two patrons away from an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) after she told them there would be a long wait for food. Much to her dismay, one of them turned out to be Adam Sandler and she was understandably mortified - though props for doing your job and treating him like any other person, knowingly or not (he can wait like the rest of us). After she shared her gaffe on TikTok, things only got more hilarious as Sandler decided to respond, joking that he only left because the "nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn't apply to the milkshakes". Deal-breaker. Thankfully, with both parties seeing the funny side, the mild embarrassment didn't last for long as the hostess in question, Dayanna Rodas, was reunited with her celebrity customer this past Tuesday.

As you can see in the clip, Sandler turned up to IHOP's 'Milkshake Monday' promotion in Long Island, New York. The waiter was clearly over the moon, as demonstrated by setting the slideshow to the tune of 'Best Day of My Life' by American Authors. The event raises money for the charity Comedy Gives Back, with a dollar for each all-you-can-drink milkshake purchased going to struggling comedians amid the COVID-19 pandemic. IHOP donated up to $50,000 of its proceeds to the charity; with Sandler's comic background and years of comedy acting under his belt, his appearance was less of a surprise to Rodas than the first time around. He uploaded a thank you post featuring his dog to Instagram.
