The multi-billionaire magnate lost a casual $20.5 billion following his SNL appearance
If you haven't watched it yet, Elon Musk's appearance on
Saturday Night Live a pretty wild ride. As expected and not unlike many other guests who aren't natural actors but still give it a go, it was a pretty awkward affair throughout.
His performance was so jarring, in fact, that
as reported by Forbes, his net worth dropped by $20 billion in less than a week. Big yikes. We don't expect he'll be out of pocket whatsoever but it doesn't half make quite a statement.

According to the business publication, shares in Tesla have dropped 15% so far this week already, lowering Musk’s
net worth from $166 billion to $145.5b as yesterday. How will he survive?
For context, Musk is the third-richest person on the planet, just slightly ahead of
Bill Gates and just $20 billion or so behind
Jeff Bezos. That being said, this latest Tesla hit might prove crucial in the competition to see who can hoard the most abject amount of money that no person could spend in a dozen lifetimes.
These men were actually two of those whose
wealth actually grew during the pandemic. In fact, billionaires actually
made £2.2 trillion during lockdown and the eight richest people in the world are now
worth a combined $1 trillion on their own - you know, trillion: that number you usually on hear in films? Dr. Evil says it in
Austin Powers for f*ck's sake.
With that in mind, we're not going to lose any sleep over what is literally pennies to a man like Musk. Funnier still, after he mentioned cryptocurrencies on the show, Forbes also reported that
Dogecoin's value sunk by 30% in just 24 hours, with the price of Bitcoin also dropping by 17% to below $50,000.

As well as the customary opening monologue, in which he
revealed he has Asperger's - though he falsely claimed to be the first to admit so, despite comedy legend
Dan Ackroyd having been vocal about it for some 20 years - he also did sketches such as the '
Weekend Update', a Mission: Mars edition of '
Chad', as well as gags about
cowboys and a skit called '
Gen-Z Hospital'.
Needless to say, they were all uncomfortable at somehow simultaneously enjoyable at various points throughout their duration. Nevertheless, it's quite incredible that a show like SNL which is known for hits and misses could lean so heavily towards the latter. Our favourite was the Wario sketch. Yes, the Wario sketch...
