Xherdan Shaqiri hasn’t yet arrived at Euro 2016 in terms of bringing his talents to the pitch.
The Stoke winger was expected to be Switzerland’s star player at the tournament but he’s yet to offer any significant contribution.
And while he may have gone quiet on the right side of the Swiss flank throughout the group stage of the competition, he’s coming out with some absolute gold in the press.
Shaqiri was asked about the fact that the Swiss jerseys continued to tear during their 0-0 draw with France on Sunday night, likely the only talking point of an otherwise uneventful game, and his response was absolutely brilliant.
“I hope Puma does not produce condoms,” Shaqiri said in quotes appearing in The Guardian.
Throughout the 90 minutes in Lille, the shirts of Admir Mehmedi, Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo were all ripped and it was all that anybody wanted to talk about.

“We have had a few problems with the jersey,” Embolo joked after the game. “The kit manager is not fully ready yet, but we are.”
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Yann Sommer said: “It can happen. It means it was a fight on pitch.”
