Will Smith admits that he “felt a spark” when watching Manchester United

As the popularity of football (soccer) continues to grow over in the US, it’s not uncommon to see some high profile celebrities nailing their colours (colors) the the masts of various club sides.

Will Smith is the first to admit that he’s by no means an expert on the English game, but he’s admitted that he “felt a spark” when he watched Manchester United.

Speaking to talkSport ahead of the release of his new film ‘Concussion’, people would have been forgiven for thinking Smith had received a bang on the head given the dull performances that United have served up recently – but it appears he watched United a few years back.

“It was three years ago, I think. We were there [at Manchester United] and I watched a game.

“I got a little spark – I felt this spark.”

Smith, goes on to explain that he’s more interested in basketball and is a part-owner of the Philadelphia 76ers. Given the quality of his penalty taking, we can’t say we’re surprised.
