Wilfried Zaha’s latest Instagram post would suggest he is staying put at Crystal Palace

He has been linked with a move to Tottenham but his latest Instagram post would suggest that he is happy at Palace and not going anywhere

Several clubs were interested in signing him

Wilfried Zaha’s future has been the subject of much speculation this summer, as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea both expressed interest in signing the winger.

Spurs fans’ hopes of signing him were given a boost recently when Zaha uploaded a cryptic Instagram story, in which he wrote that “today is the day I make a change with everything.” As it turned out, he was getting a tattoo.

But if we continue down the line of inferring his Instagram posts as definitive answers to the questions we’re all asking, his latest would suggest that he is going nowhere.

Today he uploaded a photo of himself looking happy and relaxed in training, captioned “Waiting for the season to start like…” and tagged Crystal Palace’s official account before declaring that “God is great.”

Zaha may well have been open to a move to Tottenham, but Palace’s asking price of at least £70m will have put off Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who is famous for his lowballing in the transfer market.

The Ivory Coast international has a special connection with Palace, having been at the club since he was nine years old, bar one forgettable season at Manchester United.

His post-match interview after Palace’s pre-season friendly against Reading – in which he scored twice and got himself an assist – would also suggest that he is happy to stay at Selhurst Park and raring to go for the season ahead.
