Who are the greatest managers in the world? You have your say…

Nooruddean Choudry

Jose Mourinho is a man under serious pressure. He is currently suffering the biggest crisis of his glittering career.

Many are openly suggesting that it is now a case of when rather than if he is relieved of his managerial duties at Stamford Bridge. But is he still one of the greatest footballing minds on the planet? And if so, is he not the perfect man to steer Chelsea out of their current malaise?

We are told that form is temporary, but class is permanent for footballers. Is it the same for managers? Arsene Wenger’s stock is higher than it has been for many a year, but he is no stranger to fans wanting him removed due to poor form. How does he rank in terms of the world’s best?

We asked you to list who, in your opinion, were the five best managers out there at the moment. Here are just a few of your responses…

While there’s plenty of support for Guardiola, current Barcelona boss Luis Enrique also gained a number of nominations…

And there was even a shout for Slaven Bilic thanks to West Ham’s flying start…

Diego Simeone was another popular shout – could he be the man to replace Mourinho?

Or will the Blues oust Mourinho and look to former boss Carlo Ancelotti?

Nadeem made a good point not to forget World Cup-winning duo Del Bosque and Low…

While Jurgen Klopp received plenty of honourable mentions…

Although a number of usual suspects are listed time and again – namely Guardiola, Klopp, Ancelotti, Simeone, Wenger, Enrique and yes, Mourinho – one name conspicuous by its absence is that of Louis van Gaal.

Whether this is an acceptance that the world of management has moved on from the Dutchman’s hey dey, or whether there’s a level of bias against Man United at play is unclear.

But it seems that the man currently in 15th position in the league tops the coach sitting in 4th place – in your view at least.
