Every year the transfer market becomes more and more of a circus.

We saw the £1billion mark broken for the first time ever this year as transfer fees rose yet again. But while some clubs wheel and deal and do their business tighter than a Scottish George Osborne, others spunk cash like they're the Wolf of Wall Street. money animated GIF We've seen big money signings arrive at the Premier League's big boys - only to disastrously flop and get shipped out again a season later. But there's one club that beats them all at squandering millions and millions of pounds on p*ss-poor signings, according to the Soccerex Transfer Review in the Telegraph. We'll give you a clue - they've signed a 19-year-old French lad for £36m (only time will tell if that's another one to add to the sorry list). anthony-martial-mufc The stats show than United spent £118m on players than were used for less than half of the minutes played by the club since 2013. Angel Di Maria, who cost a ludicrous £55m, accounted for half that dismal total - with Marouane Fellaini not far behind on £24m. Di Maria played just 48% of the minutes which was surpassed by injury-hit Luke Shaw with just 33% after his £27m move. Spurs were number two in the list of transfer shame with £100m down the swanny - thanks largely to Erik Lamela and Robert Soldado. A special mention goes to Man City with £53m (Worst offender: Stevan Jovetic) and Liverpool with £50m (Worst offenders Mario Balotelli and Lazar Markovic). The report says a total of £475m was spent on players in the Premier League who played less than 50% of their club's total minutes. Our eyes are watering!
