We might get to watch the rescheduled Wladimir Klitschko vs Tyson Fury fight for free

This would be brilliant...

If recent superfights are anything to go by, you’re probably best saving your money.

But for anyone who got burned shelling out a small fortune to watch Floyd Mayweather’s bore-fest with Manny Pacquiao, we’ve got some good news for you.

The long-awaited clash between reining world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury was postponed and then given a new date on November 28 after the Ukrainian picked up a calf injury.

But according to the Manchester Evening News there are two TV companies bidding to show the heavyweight showdown between the 39-year-old WBA, WBO and IBF champion and Fury, who is 24-0 since turning pro.

Sky Sports Box Office are in the running to screen the fight – but so are ITV, which would mean fight fans may see the bout on free terrestrial television.

Fury told “There are two TV stations in the running and that is ITV and Sky Sports Box Office, and we haven’t confirmed which station it will be broadcast live on yet.

“Negotiations have been reached between the fighters and the promotions so all we are waiting on now is confirmation from the broadcaster, so whoever wants it better crack on with it.

“If ITV win the rights and this is shown on terrestrial TV then it will be the most watched boxing event ever, that’s how big it will be.”
