Wayne Rooney has equalled Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 49 goals for England, against San Marino on Saturday evening.
England were awarded a somewhat dubious penalty on 13 minutes and Rooney stepped up to calmly slot home the opener to make it 0-1.
If Rooney doesn’t add to his tally, he will have perfectly equaled Charlton’s record of 49 goals in 106 games.
