Watch PSV player celebrate his team’s title win by bizarrely chanting his own name

Kevin Beirne

There are many ways to celebrate your team winning the league.

Usually, you’ll crack open the champagne and talk about the team spirit that saw you through the dark days, or thank your manager for bringing everyone together.

But if you’re Dutch defender Karim Rekik, you might just decide to inexplicably sing a song about yourself.

After winning the league in May, PSV Eindhoven fans came out to celebrate their heroes – but Rekik apparently thought that the thousand-strong crowd was there just for him.

In an act of egotism that even Mario Balotelli would be embarrased by, the 20-year-old took the microphone and began chanting his own name in bizarre fashion – as you can see in this video which has just emerged on YouTube.

The PSV fans are left to awkwardly wonder about the defender’s next drug test while the former Man City man hoists the Eredivisie trophy over his head…
