It’s two wins out of a possible two for Arsenal on their preseason tour of Australia.
Having seen off Sydney FC in their opener earlier in the week, Arsene Wenger’s side faced Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, running out 3-1 winners.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring in the match after half an hour, with Aaron Ramsey later doubling the lead. Before the break, Mohamed Elneny deflected effort put them three up, effectively ending the game as a contest.
The only other goal in the game came for the home side, who were able to capitalise after being awarded an indirect free-kick in the Arsenal box after Emiliano Martinez, the Gunners’ substitute goalkeeper, picked up Ramsey’s back pass.
In a bid to defend the free-kick, Arsenal put every single one of their players on the goal line… But even this wasn’t enough to prevent the Wanderers getting a goal.
Although the initial shot was blocked by Nacho Monreal, it rebounded straight to Steven Lustica, who was able to life the ball into the roof of the Arsenal goal.

Arsene Wenger used the match as an opportunity to field most of his first team squad. The team will now travel to China ahead of their match against Bayern Munich in Sanghai next week.
