Wales’ Jack Marshman will not be allowed to compete at UFC London on Saturday

Jack Marshman has been pulled from the UFC London card on medical grounds.

The Welshman was scheduled to face fellow Brit Bradley Scott on Saturday in what would be Marshman's first fight at welterweight but he has been officially forced to withdraw. Having previously competed at 185lbs, Marshman was on his way down to the 170lbs mark and even took part in Thursday's media day but in the middle of his weight cut, doctors deemed him unfit to fight at the weekend and the UFC subsequently pulled him from the event. https://twitter.com/UFCEurope/status/974390745573576706 A UFC statement reads as follows:

"Based on advice from the UFC medical team on Thursday evening, Jack Marshman was deemed not fit to fight and his bout against Brad Scott has been cancelled. UFC FIGHT NIGHT: WERDUM vs. VOLKOV will continue on Saturday March 17th with 11 fights."

Marshman made his UFC debut in 2016 and was successful in his promotional bow but his record of 2-2 in the Octagon inspired him to make a change. It's understood that 'The Hammer' is eager for the fight to be rescheduled as soon as possible, with Scott having stepped in on short notice for Marshman's original opponent Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, who had to pull out of the fight with a knee injury.
