VIDEO: The moment David de Gea pulled up during Manchester United’s Europa League warm-up

At this stage, we’re starting to believe Manchester United’s season is cursed.

After crashing out of a Champions League group that included Wofsburg, PSV Eindhoven and CSKA Moscow, Louis van Gaal’s army were sentenced to Thursday night football in the Europa League.

While that was a mistake of their own doing, their players are beginning to drop like flies. Captain Wayne Rooney is already set for an extended spell on the sidelines, while David de Gea pulled up with a muscle strain just before kick off against Midtjylland on Thursday night.

De Gea has arguably been the best player at Old Trafford for some time now, and although Sergio Romero put in a fine effort in his absence, United fans will worry about losing the Spaniard in the run-in to the end of the season.

Footage of De Gea’s injury has emerged, and while it’s hard to diagnose the exact issue without any more information (and a medical degree), it’s of the worrying “non-contact” variety.
