Napoli face a summer of holding onto their star talents this summer, with Victor Osimhen likely to be at the centre of a bidding war.

Osimhen’s goalscoring form helped fire Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years, catching the attention of clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Serie A champions will do everything they can to keep the Nigerian and it isn’t the first time they’ve had to try and keep Osimhen at the club.

In a recent interview, Napoli director Cristiano Giuntol revealed that he kept Osimhen ‘locked’ inside a hotel to persuade him to stay at the club after reported interest from Liverpool.

Giandomenico Costi, who worked with Giuntol at Napoli revealed all via Italian outlet, Tuttosport.

He said: “The signing of Osimhen is Giuntoli’s biggest masterpiece.

“He [Osimhen] was locked in a hotel for three days. Giuntoli knew Liverpool were interested, and Jurgen Klopp had made his move, but Cristiano spoke to Osimhen in the hotel for three days until he convinced him to accept Napoli.

“He was full of energy. Giuntoli is a director who would call you 100 times a day. He knew Victor very well, he had even followed him at Charleroi.”

It’s reported that Napoli will ask for £150m to even consider the forward this summer, which may rule United out of the race.
