Promoter reveals when we can expect Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder II to take place

The hope for a UK stadium fight always seemed a tad ambitious

Tyson Fury made no secret of his burning desire to take his much-discussed rematch with Deontay Wilder to Old Trafford this summer but 'The Gypsy King' will be well aware of the fact that the real money is in the United States. Fury is expected to get a second crack at Wilder's WBC heavyweight title after the pair of undefeated heavyweights put on a fight for the ages in Los Angeles at the beginning of December. Most fans believed that Fury was robbed of a storybook ending to his comeback journey when a controversial split draw was declared at the Staples Centre last month. Fury's promoter Frank Warren has given an update on the rematch talks, revealing that we can expect Fury vs Wilder II to take place before June and while Las Vegas is a potential destination, Warren would be reluctant to return to California. "We're trying to make that fight at the moment, everyone wants the fight and most importantly the fighters want it," Warren told ESPN. "The venue is looking like the US; that's where the money is. Tyson was disappointed with the judging with the last fight, as I was, so a lot of things need to be sorted but the US is where they want it, probably in the second quarter. "Vegas would be one of the options. I wouldn't want to go back to California, I didn't like working with the Californian commission and there were a lot of things we didn't like there. "Tyson is already in the gym working hard, ticking over, and I think we would get it [the fight versus Wilder] before June."
