Fury will accept the fight on one condition

Tyson Fury has sent a message to the World Boxing Council after they ordered a title eliminator between him and Dillian Whyte

After initially dismissing the order by claiming that he does not follow others’ demands, Fury has now seemingly come around to the idea of sharing the ring with Whyte, on one condition.

Ahead of his first fight as part of his lucrative ESPN broadcast deal, ‘The Gypsy King’ named the one condition for accepting the Whyte fight.

“I recently saw your quote about fighting for the interim title against Dillian Whyte and I’m very thankful for the opportunity,” Fury said on Instagram.

“But what I suggest is, because I beat Deontay Wilder and we all know what happened, I didn’t get the decision, but I still won and the world knows.

“I propose that we make me and Dillian Whyte for the WBC ‘diamond’ belt and not the interim belt.

“I’ll take care of Dillian Whyte and I’ll knock him out within six rounds.

“I accept the challenge, thank you very much. I’ll fight Dillian Whyte every day of the week and twice on a Sunday, WBC.

“Make it for the diamond belt and not the interim version and you’ve got a deal. Let’s get it on!”

With Fury preparing for his clash with Tom Schwarz and Whyte getting ready to meet Oscar Rivas, the potential bout likely wouldn’t take place until late 2019.

Whyte has made his willingness known via the above response to Fury’s condition while the WBC is said to be open to the idea of putting their diamond belt, which was established in 2009 as an honorary championship to put on the line in historic fights, up for grabs if both British heavyweights agree to the bout.
