Manuel Pellegrini's men were paired with Real Madrid in their first ever semi-final in the competition, with soon-to-be manager Pep Guardiola taking on Atletico Madrid with Bayern Munich.
But despite Real's grand European history, many felt that City had actually just landed themselves the best possible draw.
