Tony Bellew defies trainer as he makes Tyson Fury revelation

Tony Bellew vs. Tyson Fury may be more likely than any of us had initially imagined.

Following David Haye's injury-forced withdrawal from next month's grudge rematch with Bellew, Fury didn't hesitate to put his name forward for a clash with the Liverpool heavyweight next May. But given Bellew's previous claims that he wouldn't be interested in fighting the world's larger heavyweights, like Anthony Joshua, most assumed that he simply wouldn't be open to welcoming Fury back to the ring. Bellew's trainer Dave Coldwell gave a predictable reaction to Fury's call-out and the potential fight was dead in the water, or so it seemed. "He’s too big," Coldwell told Boxing News Online. While the Fury challenge is not an appealing one to Coldwell, it appears as though Bellew is not in agreement with his head coach as 'Bomber' has revealed that he wouldn't be averse to a clash with the undefeated Fury. "Let’s get it going," Bellew said on Soccer AM. "I’ve got a massive interest in fighting Stavros Flatley lookalike Tyson Fury, to be honest." After comparing Fury, who has put on a significant amount of weight in his time away from the ring, to former Britain's Got Talent contestant Stavros Flatley, Bellew was adamant that he was not afraid of Fury's considerable size advantage. "Listen, he’s given me a hell of a lot of stick, as good as he is, but Stavros, if you’re out there, let’s get it going," Bellew added. "Everyone says I’m scared of big heavyweights. They don’t come any bigger than Stavros Flatley, do they? "So listen, I’m game to do it when you are."
