Tiger Woods to tee off with another former champion at the British Open

One of golf’s biggest tournaments will crown a new champion following Rory McIlroy’s withdrawal through injury – and two former Open Championship winners  will start side by side.

McIlroy was forced to pull out after suffering ligament damage in a kickabout with his mates, but there are plenty of big names left in the field.

Tiger Woods is among the biggest, and the three-time winner will tee off alongside 2010 champ Louis Oosthuizen at St Andrew’s.

Two other multiple champions will begin their rounds together, with veteran Tom Watson joining double champion Ernie Els for the first two rounds.

The Open Championship begins on July 16 – can Tiger get win number four?
