Scotland’s Euro 2016 qualifying campaign had started so well, as four points from their two games against Ireland meant the Scots were in line for a playoff spot at the very least.

But it all suddenly fell apart following a shock loss to Georgia, and Ireland’s incredible win over the Germans meant that nothing less than a win would keep Gordon Strachan’s men in the hunt.

Leading 2-1 against Poland going into stoppage time, Scottish fans could start to look forward to the final game against Gibraltar until Robert Lewandowski broke the hearts of nearly every man, woman and child in Hampden Park.
