This Eric Cantona version of Will Grigg’s on Fire is the strangest yet

Utterly brilliant...

So what if he’s not even kicked a ball at Euro 2016 yet, the Will Grigg bandwagon rolls on.

We’ve heard lots about the Wigan Athletic striker being on fire this summer. Some would say *too* much.

Nevertheless, with Northern Ireland making it to the last 16 of the Euros, there’s no sign of it going away. Accept it.

Making absolutely sure of that is Manchester United legend, Eric Cantona. In his latest video for Eurosport, the former French international gives his own special rendition of the song as he praises Irish fans for their contribution to the tournament thus far.

He describes how they have sung for the police, put babies to sleep, serenaded ladies and even performed Jesusy feats such as multiplying bread and turning water into beer. He also commends them for knowing the end of Game of Thrones.

If you thought it couldn’t get any more odd, it’s only then that he bursts into song…

Strange, but also quite brilliant.

Having witnessed his singing and the dance moves (even though he remains sitting down) that accompany it, we can’t help but wonder if Eric was a regular at Manchester’s Haçienda back in his days at United…

Northern Ireland face Wales for a place in the last eight of Euro 2016 on Saturday.
