The World’s Strongest Footballer had this message for Chelsea’s Diego Costa

We wouldn't mess with him...

Ben Kenyon

Adebayo Akinfenwa is known as the ‘world’s strongest footballer’.

The AFC Wimbledon striker earned the nickname The Beast for bulldozing defenders, running riot in the box – oh, and bench pressing 180kg in the gym.

He’s a man you don’t mess with – as Liverpool found out last season in the FA Cup third round.

The big man notched a goal that day and made a few Liverpool players look daft with some surprisingly deft touches and turns.

But now Chelsea better hope they don’t draw AFC Wimbledon in the cup this time around, because Akinfenwa has his eye on their striker Diego Costa – the man who also carries the nickname ‘El Cholo’ (The Beast).

Akinfenwa, speaking at the UK launch of the new FIFA 16 game in London, said he was an admirer of the Spanish forward’s game. But if it came to a one-on-one challenge, Costa would not be coming out on top.

“I like Diego Costa as a player,” he said. “He’s got that aggression, but there’s only one winner if he comes up against me.”

Beast Mode, on.
