The season starts next week.

Benjamin Sesko is still not available for Manchester United as they gear up for a Premier League return against former gaffer Ruben Amorim's AC Milan today.

The Slovenian international has not played a single minute of pre-season action for the Red Devils, missing all six games ahead of the opener against recently promoted Hull City next week.

Following Michael Carrick's arrival at Old Trafford, the big striker really hit form, bagging 12 goals, including against arch-rivals Liverpool in May.

During that match, the forward aggravated a shin injury, taking a fall with the infamous Old Trafford dip around the pitch, and crashing into the advertising boards.

Now almost four months ago, it wasn't deemed to be a serious issue at the time. Though presently, it is still an issue as the new season awaits.

Will he be ready for Hull opener?

It's unlikely Sesko will be ready to lead the line against the newly promoted Tigers next Saturday afternoon.

He hasn't played since that Liverpool victory in May, with Carrick often favouring the striker off-the-bench in matches last season.

If he is deemed fit, he may have to settle for a role amongst the substitutes once more.
