The German team’s twitter account is trolling Gary Lineker with Thomas Muller’s face

We’ve been here before.

Yet again, it’s the knockout stages of a major tournament and Germany are just starting to hit form.

They’re already the world champions, but there’s an increasing feeling that they might be on course to bag themselves a European crown.

A 3-0 win over Slovakia – a side that managed to hold England to a 0-0 draw was enough to book the German’s place in the last eight of Euro 2016, and Gary Lineker responded with the following tweet…

Needless to say, this was an ironic tweet… but it didn’t stop the official German football team’s Twitter account from replying with GIF of Thomas Muller’s face.

If we’re being honest, we don’t know what the hell this is supposed to mean, but we’re pretty sure it’s a German attempt at humour. At least that’s what we think.

Still, the reply appeared to go down well with the Twitter masses, and we’re sure Lineker welcomed the fact it makes no reference to crisps or ‘shat’ – unlike the majority of the replies he receives.

Germany will now face the winners of Spain and Italy in their quarter final, a tie that, as we told you earlier, will *definitely* spell the end of their quest for European glory. Maybe that’s why Joachim Low is sweating
