Supporters can’t believe the fee that Justin Kluivert is going for

Cheap as chips

Would the figure be so low if he was heading to a Premier League club?

Justin Kluivert is on his way to Roma and the fee that the Serie A side have reportedly agreed with Ajax is remarkable in that it is just £15.8 million.

Given Kluivert’s potential, Roma’s acquisition of the youngster could prove to be one of the biggest bargains in recent history.

Huge things are expected of the 19-year-old, who had reportedly earned the interest of both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur with his performances for Ajax over the past 18 months.

United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to be a massive fan of Kluivert, who is the son of Netherlands legend Patrick, but Roma look to have beaten all other suitors to his signature.

Considering the mammoth figures that are being touted for players in the modern transfer market, Kluivert looks a snip even when the reported bonuses worth £4 million are accounted for.

The prospect is set to sign a five-year deal at the Stadio Olimpic worth £25,000-a-week and a clause has been inserted into Kluivert’s contract which will see Ajax receive a percentage of any future transfer fee for the player who made his international debut in March.

Supporters of Premier League clubs simply can’t believe that he’s going so cheap.
