Steve Cotterill readmitted to hospital with Covid-pneumonia

The Shrewsbury Town boss spent 33 days in hospital earlier this year
Shrewsbury Town's manager Steve Cotterill has been readmitted to hospital with Covid-pneumonia, the club has confirmed.
The 56-year-old was first admitted to Bristol Royal Infirmary on January 15, remaining there for 33 days as assistant manager Aaron Wilbraham stepped up to take charge of the League One club in his absence.
Since leaving hosptial, Cotterill had been working from his home in Bristol where he managed the club over the phone and via Zoom meetings.
A club statement confirming his readmission to hospital was released by the club on Monday, swiftly followed by posts on social media channels.

"Shrewsbury Town Football Club is disappointed to report Steve Cotterill has been re-admitted to the hospital," the statement read.
"Following extensive treatment for Covid-19, Steve returned home from the hospital on February 16th. However, Town's Manager has returned to the hospital over the weekend as he is suffering from Covid-pneumonia.
"The Club wishes Steve all the best in his recovery and will not be making any further comments at this time."
Wilbraham added: "For somebody who has never missed a day's work in his life, this will hit the Manager really hard.
"He's one of the strongest and toughest people I know, and I know he'll get through this Covid-pneumonia."
Shrewsbury lost 2-1 at the weekend to newly appointed Joey Barton's Bristol Rovers. The result leaves them 17th in England's third tier.
