Kylian Mbappé, if you believe reports from Spain, is destined for Real Madrid this summer.
The 18-year-old is said to have told Monaco he wishes to leave the Ligue 1 champions, with a move to the Bernabeu believed to be his preference.
As you might expect given the youngster’s performances in the French top flight and the Champions League last season, the European Champions aren’t the only club believed to be sniffing around Mbappé.
Manchester City, a club who have had no problem spending big so far this summer, are also said to be interested in the striker. With that in mind, there was understandable excitement at the news that Mbappé was in Manchester on Saturday, posting a picture of himself next to City’s Leroy Sane.

Unfortunately for City fans, it seems Mbappé is only in Manchester as part of a promotional shoot for Nike.
Ah, right. That’s the end of that then, right?
Well… perhaps not, actually.
Benjamin Mendy, a teammate of Mbappé at Monaco last season, joined City a few weeks ago. Having spotted his tweet Sane, he sent this reply.

While we’re almost certain Mendy was just being a little bit mischievous, we’re also quite confident that some will take this as a sign that City might be about to land another member of the Monaco side that dumped them out of last season’s Champions League.
