Spurs striker Harry Kane will get his first England start against Italy on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 29 goals this season, will line up alongside captain Wayne Rooney in Turin on Tuesday night.
Kane came on to score within 80 seconds against Lithuania on Friday which had everyone drooling.
But Hodgson is expected to give the young Lion his first full cap against the Italians after his immediate impact in the 4-0 Euro 2016 qualifier win.
“Harry deserves his chance,” said the England coach.
“This is a chance for some of the squad players to show they are good enough.”
