During Sunday’s victory over Southampton, Leicester City fans joined in a minute’s applause for supporter Jasbir Rupra, who died following a recent Foxes game.

Rupra, 67, suffered a heart attack following the 1-0 win over Newcastle United, and his life support machine was turned off days later.

And Jasbir’s son Perminder has spoken of the “incredible gesture” from the club’s fans to pay tribute to the loyal fan in the 67th minute of the game.

“When the applause happened it sent shivers down my spine. It was an incredible gesture,” he told the Leicester Mercury.

“This just shows there is still a lot of good in the world.”

Perminder had earlier praised fans who did their best to help when his father collapsed, with some who were in attendance at the game performing CPR and helping ambulances reach the scene.

“It was very, very humbling,” he added.
