Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny felt the full attention of the world's media on Sunday evening as he took on the role of headlining the Super Bowl's halftime show, becoming the first artist in history to complete the event entirely in Spanish.
While much was made of the spectacle, that brought together some of the biggest artists and celebrities in America — including Ricky Martin, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Pedro Pascal, and Jessica Alba — fans have given extra attention to part of the set design, that transformed the Levi's Stadium pitch into a typical Puerto Rican sugarcane plantation.
People noticed that the trees, foliage, and bushes used to make the change were actually made up of dozens of performers, each paid a surprising amount to be there.

As pointed out on social media platform X, Bad Bunny's Super Bowl trees were paid some $1,309 for their efforts.
Sports fans have been quick to respond to the news, with one saying: "They got paid for cosplaying a bush and a free trip to the SB there are worse things to do for $1300."
Others have suggested that the $18 per hour wage simply sits in line with minimum wage in the state of California where the event took place.
One X user said: "That’s the minimum wage in the city of Santa Clara. No one is affording rent making that."
Regardless of opinions on the wages on offer, Bad Bunny's performance is certainly set to go down in history as one of the most memorable halftime shows ever.
