Anything to get the advantage

A Sheffield United fan has claimed to have ‘kidnapped’ Erling Haaland days before their FA Cup semi final against Manchester City.

The Championship side have an almighty task to reach the FA Cup final and face one of the most in-form sides in the world, who come into the game off the back of a 4-1 aggregate victory against Bayern Munich.

Haaland was the star again for Pep Guardiola’s side and opened the scoring at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night to score his 48th goal in all competitions.

With the odds stacked against them, any advantage will do for Sheffield United and one fan jokingly claimed that he had ‘kidnapped’ the 22-year-old.

A video posted online shows a person approaching the Blades supporter, who then explains why he kidnapped the Norway international.

In the back of his car, dummy lying in the boot of his car, the fan reveals he plans to take Haaland to his friend’s garage in order to prevent a “cricket score” at the weekend.

As expected, the video has gone viral on social media.

One user wrote: “Can you imagine Haaland fitting in that car even as a passenger lol.”

A second tweeted: “Looks like Erling Haaland will be missing for the game at Wembley at the weekend.”

“Absolute genius… deserves an Oscar,” said another.

The winner of Saturday’s semi final will play the winner of Brighton’s game against Manchester United.
