David De Gea is reportedly set to put an end to speculation about his contract by signing a new deal at Manchester United.
De Gea has been locked in talks with the club over his contract - which expires at the end of the season - and has yet to receive any offers form clubs outside of England.
After initially being reluctant to take a pay cut, ESPN have claimed that United's number one will sign a new deal with a reduced salary but a rise in performance-based bonuses such as clean sheets.
The new deal - set to be a four-year contract - will likely see De Gea stay at Old Trafford until the age of 36, where he has become a vital asset during his time at the club.
It's also a major boost for Erik ten Hag, who has been helped by the Spaniard's 14 clean sheets in the Premier League, more than anyone else.
United had initially looked at other options such as Porto's Diogo Costa and Brentford's David Raya however tying De Gea down to a new deal will mean one less position to identify in the summer transfer window.
Work has already begun on finding new players for next season, with reports suggesting that the Red Devils could make a move for Bayer Leverkusen full-back Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutch international, who started out at Manchester City before moving onto Celtic, has established himself as one of the most exciting full-backs in the Bundesliga and has scored 10 goals in 86 appearances.
Harry Kane has also been heavily linked with a move to the north west, with a striker the main priority on Ten Hag's shopping list.
