Sergio Ramos pulled a Conor McGregor with celebration of penalty in Super Cup final

No-No-Notorious

There’s a new penalty-taker in town and his name is Sergio Ramos.

It’s no surprise that Ramos is capable of taking a spot kick but now that Cristiano Ronaldo no longer immediately lays claim to all penalties awarded to Real Madrid, Ramos looks to be his natural successor.

Ramos was at fault for Atletico Madrid’s opening goal in Wednesday night’s Super Cup final with Real’s arch-rivals as the Spanish centre-half allowed fellow shithouser Diego Costa to win an aerial duel and then chase his own flick before Costa hammered home.

But Ramos made amends for his error when he stepped up and found the net from 12 yards after Atletico conceded a second-half penalty from a handball.

With his celebration, the Real captain made his admiration for UFC superstar Conor McGregor known as he broke out the trademark strut of ‘The Notorious’.

Los Blancos were not able to carry their skipper’s confidence into a victory though as Costa netted his second of the match with 10 minutes remaining, which brought the game to extra time.

Every player on the park could have done without the additional 30 minutes ahead of the new season but Atletico appeared to have the fresher bodies and after Saul Niguez rocketed home a thumping shot, Koke guided a finish into the back of Real’s net which gave Diego Simeone side’s the win.
