But what makes this goal even more special is that barely 24 hours before, the forward was playing for his native Italy in their 2-1 Euro 2016 qualifier against Norway.
He was in Rome on Wednesday morning and flew all the way out to Toronto for the game that evening, where he scored the historic goal in the 2-1 victory over New York Red Bulls.
What a player.
