Scott Brown and Rangers manager get into shouting match at half-time

Never a lack of intensity in this game

Pedro Caixinha had predicted that Celtic’s players would attempt to wind up Alfredo Morelos on Saturday.

The Rangers manager was concerned that the visitors would set out with a strategy to get a rise out of his fiery forward and it’s clear that that was what Caixinha was shouting in Scott Brown’s direction as the Hoops captain made his way down the Ibrox tunnel at half-time of the first Old Firm clash of the season.

The score at the break was 0-0 in an open encounter which saw plenty of aggressive challenges, the first of which actually came from a Gers player on his own manager.

Caixinha saw the funny side of the above but he wasn’t smiling after he felt that Brown had elbowed Morelos when the pair competed in an aerial duel for the ball.

As the Scotland international left the pitch to return to the dressing room at the break, Caixinha got in Brown’s face and it will surprise nobody to learn that Brown didn’t back down an inch.

Members of both team’s backroom staff got between Caixinha and Brown to ensure that the situation would not escalate but it was all a bit of a storm in a teacup really.
