Get well soon, Sach

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is currently in hospital with Covid-19.

The Indian icon tested positive for the virus last week, and tweeted on Friday to confirm that he had gone to hospital “as a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice.”

“I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone,” he added.

Tendulkar then added his best wishes to all Indians on the 10th anniversary of their World Cup win.

A number of cities in India have seen a sharp rise in cases of the virus in recent weeks, with the country currently facing its ‘deadlier second wave.’

India suffered its highest spike in cases since December on Thursday, with 81,466 news cases and 469 deaths.

Since this time last year, India has reported a staggering 12.2 million cases and over 163,000 deaths.
