Ronald Koeman sacked by Everton

Everton are on the hunt for a new manager.

The Merseyside club confirmed on Monday that Ronald Koeman had left the club with immediate effect. A statement on the Toffees' official Twitter account made the news official. https://twitter.com/everton/status/922439954483044352 Pressure began mounting on Koeman following a woeful start to the season which left Everton in the relegation zone after nine games. A summer of considerable spending skyrocketed supporters' expectations prior to the beginning of the current campaign but just two Premier League wins so far this term made Koeman's position at Goodison Park untenable. A 5-2 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the Dutchman despite the defiant figure he cut in the aftermath of the loss. "I think I can [turn it around] but now is not the moment and everybody is so disappointed," Koeman said after the game. "It is how you look to the situation. If you start to think negatively, then maybe there is no solution. I am not like that. All the rumours in the newspapers are normal. The team is underperforming, it is in a difficult situation mentally and confidence are struggling. That is what we need to change. "I still believe I can change the whole situation but everybody knows how it works in football. That is all I answer about this situation." Well Koeman has not been given the chance to turn it around as the club's chairman, Bill Kenwright, and majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, have decided that enough was enough.
