Sorry, Divock, it looks like you’re back on the bench

Liverpool look set to receive a huge boost ahead of the Champions League final on June 1st as Roberto Firmino steps up his rehab from a thigh strain he sustained during the Reds’ 5-0 demolition of Huddersfield at Anfield.

Brazil coach Tite has named the forward in his squad for this summer’s Copa America tournament, which kicks off on June 14. But Liverpool need him back two weeks before that, and Jurgen Klopp remains confident that he will be fit.

Firmino has been doing one on one training in Marbella, Spain with Liverpool’s strength and rehabilitation assistant David Rydings as he completes a recovery programme, hoping to be match fit before the final.

The Brazilian has offered Liverpool fans a window into his rehab process by posting clips of his training on his Instagram story.

Firmino has been doing some ball work as well as sprints as he steps up his fitness.
