BREAKING

Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio has been convicted of drink driving as reported by Spanish outlet Canarias 7, quoted here by the newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

As detailed in reports, the player was stopped by authorities last year while travelling through Gran Canaria, and the centre-back was: "driving his Porsche with a blood alcohol level well over the legal limit: specifically, he registered 0.90 mg/l of alcohol in his breath, when the maximum limit is 0.25%."

The incident occurred on the 14th of August last year, and according to the report: "Raúl Asencio was convicted in a fast-track trial in which he was given a fine of 14,400 euros and had his driving license suspended for eight months."

Asencio joined Real Madrid's youth side in 2017 and has played for the club ever since, featuring 80 times for Los Blancos' first team.
