Raul Jimenez is “on his way” to Manchester United

Raul Jimenez has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the Portuguese media, who claim Braga's Paulinho is bound for Wolverhampton

As the old saying goes, give the ball to Raul and he will score

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez is reportedly headed for Manchester United, according to Portuguese media outlet RTP.

The Portuguese outlet are reporting that Braga striker Paulinho (not that one) is destined for a move to Wolves as a preemptive replacement for Jimenez, who will move to United, with agent Jorge Mendes behind both moves.

Jimenez is 29, and would cost a lot of money. It seems a baffling transfer rumour, especially given Anthony Martial’s form playing as a number 9 for United.

Presumably, Jimenez would want first team football at this point in his career, and he would not get that at United.

But even if he settled for a rotation role, coming off the bench to give United a different option, would United pay more than £50m for such a player.

They already have Odion Ighalo, who serves a similar purpose, whose contract still has until January to run.

It probably won’t happen, but RTP are insistent it will. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
